Valerie June Hockett, "Maps for the Modern World" reading and performance

Join us at the Old Town School of Folk Music for an evening of books and performance with author Valerie June Hockett and her new book, Maps for the Modern World! The Book Cellar will be present for both of Hockett's performances, one at 6:30pm and the other at 9:00pm.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

A poetic call for mindfulness, creativity, and analog real-world connection in an increasingly disconnected world from singer-songwriter Valerie June.

Maps for the Modern World is a collection of poems and original illustrations about cultivating community, awareness, and harmony with our surroundings as we move fearlessly toward our dreams.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Valerie June is an American singer-songwriter from Memphis, Tenessee. Her music ranges from folk and gospel to blues, country, and bluegrass, as well as including Appalachian influence. She plays the guitar, the banjo, and the ukulele.
