The Book Cellar and Bird's Thumb presents the 2nd Annual Chicago Voices Reading Event!

 

Georgia Bellas is a writer, artist, and filmmaker. Her teddy bear is host of "Mr. Bear's Violet Hour Saloon,” an award-winning show on BostonFreeRadio.com.

Barbara Harroun is an assistant professor at Western Illinois University. She’s into literacy activism, dog walking, and radical optimism. Visit her at barbaraharroun.com.

Benjamin Goluboff teaches English at Lake Forest College. He has placed imaginative writing—stories, poems, and essays—in many small-press journals, most recently District Lit, Vending Machine Press, and War Literature and the Arts.

Dan Nielsen is a stand-up poet and FLASH writer. He likes ping pong and six-string ukuleles. He once kissed Allen Ginsberg on the lips.  

Jeff Toth recently earned his MFA from Columbia College Chicago. His work has appeared in 3Elements Review, The Vignette Review, and onstage with 2nd Story.

John Walser, a professor at Marian University, has published poems in numerous journals, including Spillway and december magazine.  He is a two-time semifinalist for the Neruda Prize and the winner of the Niedecker Award; his two full-length manuscripts both have been finalists in book contests.

Angela Doll Carlson is a Chicago poet, fiction writer, and essayist whose work has appeared in publications such as Thin Air Magazine, Eastern Iowa Review, Relief Journal, St. Katherine Review, Ruminate Magazine, and Rock & Sling Journal. Her latest book, Garden in the East, comes out in August 2016.
