About This Is How You Vagina“We still have a lot to learn about the vagina,” says Dr. Williams. “It’s so important that women are properly educated about their bodies because we are our own biggest advocates.  The myths that still permeate our culture that have been ingrained since antiquity need to be put to rest. This Is How You Vagina answers all the questions you’ve always had as well as all of the ones you didn’t know to ask!”

In This Is How You Vagina, Dr. Williams presents readers with a much-needed education on the history, function, science and attitudes about the most fascinating and misunderstood part of the female anatomy: the vagina. The book covers valuable information about sexual function, childbirth and physiology as well as provides answers to her patients’ (and probably your) most asked questions.

Dr. Williams’ matter-of-fact answers dispel the most common myths and misinformation concerning female genitalia including:

  • No, your vagina does NOT need steaming.
  • Those panty liners are unnecessary – your vagina needs to breathe.
  • It’s actually perfectly normal for your vagina to have an odor – consider it your personal brand.

“There are so many misconceptions about the vagina because it’s a hidden part of our anatomy,” says Dr. Williams. “I’ve always been passionate about educating women on their bodies and helping them feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. This Is How You Vagina is what I hope will be a great resource for all women to refer to whenever they have a question so that they can bring concerns to their practitioners. We need to take the conversation about vaginas mainstream.”

This Is How You Vagina is an easy-to-understand guide, complete with illustrations, for women to explore and understand their vaginas in a way they never have before. Learn what’s normal and what’s not including that, yes, yours is most certainly normal too! This Is How You Vagina is essential reading for any woman looking to better understand the form and function of this most majestic and fascinating organ.

The book covers anything you need to know about vaginas from the history to why we call it “pussy” to different toys. A variety of chapters are dedicated to a specific “type” of vagina including the “Bloody,” “Orgasming,” “Birthing,” “Rejuvenated,” and “Menopausal” Vaginas. Other topics include “Vaginalism” – tackling vaginas within race and culture, caring for your vagina, and concerns including burning and discharge.

“We didn’t want to leave any topic uncovered,” says Dr. Williams. “Some of my patients’ most asked questions helped shape the conversations we have in the book as well as questions I wish they would ask. We cover topics that many consider taboo and others that are becoming much more common. It really is the ultimate guide for women.”
